Enjoy A Very Brilliant Party September 30, October 1 At Liberty Hall Historic Site Special to Capital Living Step back in time during Liberty Hall Historic Site’s annual fundraising dinner, A Very Brilliant Party(AVBP) the evenings of September 30 and October 1. The theme for this year’s Party is “Stepping Out In Style: Horses, Carriages and Kentucky in the 19th Century.” The event kicks off with a special tasting of Kentucky’s finest bourbons, as well as a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception on the back porch of Liberty Hall. From this location, attendees may take in the property’s extraordinary gardens which trace their lineage back to the site’s original owners, Senator John Brown and his wife Margaretta. This year’s Party features 19th century cuisine prepared by James L Beard-nominated Chef Quita Michel’s Holly Hill Inn and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. LHHS supporters have also been organizing an incredible silent auction featuring box seats to Keeneland and Churchill Downs and more. Raffle tickets are also available for a special insider’s tour of the Georgetown neighborhood in Washington, D.C. and two nights at the historic Dumbarton House.
